you know... my mom always said, "garbage in, garbage out"...
i NEVER understood it (yeah, seriously) until a year or so ago (when adam
explained it to me, of course).
i'm sure i
got the point when she would say it that i
am doing/watching something i
shouldn't, but how true are those words...
i mean, this may sound cliché
, but look at what you see on tv
/movies & then youth trying to recreate it... don't get me wrong... i'm
NOT blaming tv
, movies, music, etc etc
for all problems (i
actually don't think enough blame gets delegated to the parents)...ANYWAYS, but seriously, you have young girls acting foolishly because...that's what they see...that's what they hear...
and me?
AND PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP... don't take any of this to mean that i
am saying i
am blameless...
"When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." John 8:7 NIV
i am the first to admit, when i
surround myself with movies, music, people who use foul language, i
find myself WAY more vulnerable
to a silly-sounding verbiage
out of my mouth... this is just ONE EXAMPLE of many, that when you let the enemy infiltrate your surroundings, you are much more susceptible
to him infiltrating your heart.
45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. ~luke 6:45
* remember that actions, as well as words, indicate where our heart is.
i found this via print via the blue peopny blog... she prompted some very good questions along with this scripture...
